Depending on your needs our consultations can focus on...
Becoming a parent is an exciting yet overwhelming time for many. As Child and Family Health Nurses, we’ve seen the challenges and stresses parents face.
Understanding your newborn and having some support and education about normal newborn behaviour can be comforting in these early weeks and months. Just as newborns are learning to live outside the cosy environment of the womb you are also adjusting to your new role as a parent. It is understandable to have lots of questions about your newborn's feeding, sleeping, behaviour, skincare, development and much more. We are here to help and support you through this transition so that you can get to know and enjoy your baby.
As holistic sleep consultants, we support sleep from a developmental and attachment perspective. We will work closely with you to develop strategies that align with the temperament of your little one, their developmental stage, and your parenting values.
A detailed medical, feeding and sleep assessment will be done at the beginning of the consultation. This will help us to understand your main concerns and priorities, goals.
Let's face it, feeding your baby can be challenging. Education, support and a sense of community are vital for all parents, yet we know many mums are discharged home after giving birth with little or no support.
We can help you with feeding support, whether this is with your newborn or beyond.
- Feeding cues, cluster feeding and growth spurts
- Over and under supply
- Healthy weight gain
- Painful feeding

- Weaning from breastfeeding including returning to work

At Baby and You we love working with parents of toddlers. The ages between 1-3 years are a time of rapid changes in brain, emotional and social development. Toddlers are trying to make sense of the world and often experience big feelings, making even the calmest of parents wonder where their “baby” has gone. The Circle of Security model can help enormously for this age group. At Baby and You, we will educate you about making parenting so much easier. As with all age groups we will be exploring, feeding, sleep and settling, temperament, development, parental health (both physical and emotional health), and any other changes to your family circumstances to provide you with truly individualised support tailored to your parenting style.

Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P) is an evidence-based approach designed to empower parents and caregivers to better understand and address the emotional needs of their children. The program is centred on attachment theory and focuses on fostering secure attachment bonds for positive, healthier outcomes, emotional regulation and overall well-being for positive child development.
Key focus areas include providing a secure, safe and supportive base from which children can safely explore and return (the Circle). Providing a safe haven for children, being emotionally available and responsive to help children regulate their emotions when they are upset. Breaking unhelpful patterns to promote constructive responses to challenging behaviours and develop self-awareness to deeply understand their children's emotions and behaviours.
We are certified facilitators and look forward to chatting if you are interested in learning more about how this program can benefit you and your family.
We understand that parenting is often complex and challenging and that no parent is perfect.
Parenting based on the "good enough" model, emphasises that parents do not need to be perfect.
Instead, it encourages realistic expectations, responsiveness to a child's needs, setting boundaries, and learning from parenting mistakes. This approach values flexibility, unconditional love, and the creation of a nurturing environment for healthy child development. It alleviates the pressure of striving for perfection in parenting, focusing on the importance of a loving and supportive parent-child relationship.
We'd love to chat if you would like to know more about the "good enough" parenting model or any other areas in which we could support you.
